Grafton, MA - Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke showing from this 12 unit 3 story light weight construction apartment complex at 10 Cross Street around 2200hrs on February 24, 2010. Command requested a second alarm to be struck due to the life hazard and possible fire extension. Firefighters found a 1 room fire on the second floor on side "b" and quickly knocked it down using a single 1 3/4" attack line. Tower 1 set up for roof operations incase command ordered the roof to be opened for ventilation. A LDH feeder line was laid into the complex but was never charged. Salvage and overhaul operations found that there was in fact no extension out of the fire room. Command soon after released most of the on scene companies allowing the out of town apparatus to return to their respective towns.
