UXBRIDGE, MA (WORCESTER CNTY)- An Uxbridge police cruiser out on routine patrol stumbled upon this vacant "L" shaped 2.5sty wdfm farm house on Ironstone Road around 0330hrs. The fire was blowing through the roof of the main section as firefighters arrived. The OIC requested a second alarm tanker task force due to the lack of hydrants in that area. Engines 2, 3, and Ladder 1 set up in front of the dwelling to start the attack. Engine 1 laid their bed of LDH from Engine 2 up to Quaker Highway to place dump ponds for water supply. Tankers used the Ironstone Reservoir for the fill site on Elmwood Street. Several 2.5" lines started to knock down the heavy fire from the second floor and roof from the overgrown lot the dwelling sat on. Ladder 1 was able to flow it's ladder pipe once the water supply was sufficient. The bulk of the heavy fire was knocked down in about an hour and placed under control around 0600hrs. No injuries were reported.
