Burrillville, RI - Firefighters in the town of Burrillville were once again called upon to fight their second dwelling fire in 24 hours. The second fire was located at 323 Mt. Pleasant Rd in the Nasonville section of the town around 0700hrs. Engine 31 arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a garage and breezeway attached to a 1.5sty wood framed occupied dwelling. Firefighters stretched a 2.5" hand line to start the attack of the heavy overlapping fire on side 1. Oakland-Mapleville Engine 11 arrived second due and backed up Engine 31 with a 1.75" line through the front door to keep the fire out of the dwelling. 31's crew then worked the big line from side 1 to sides 4 and 3 to continue knocking the bulk of the fire down. The OIC had companies begin interior overhaul once the fire conditions were darkened down. The heavy fire was contained to the breezeway and garage with some fire extension, heavy smoke, and water damage to the living area of the dwelling. Mutual aid was received from North Smithfield, Blackstone, Chepachet. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
