PROVIDENCE, RI – Fire Alarm stilled out Engines 11, 14, 10 Special Hazards, Tower 1, Tower 2, and Battalion 2 to the area of Bridgham and Fales Streets. Tower Ladder 2 reported smoke showing as they responded in from quarters. As Fire Alarm keyed their console, phones could be heard ringing in the background for the address of 38 Bridgham St. Tower 2 arrived to find a 3sty wdfm dwelling with heavy overlapping fire showing on sides 1 and 2. The fire was fueled on the sidewall by old wood shake siding. Battalion 2 arrived and ordered a second alarm due to reports of an occupant trapped. As companies started primary searches, Engine 10 stretched in a hand line to attack the heavy fire. The aggressive interior attack using 5 hand lines kept the fire contained to the area of origin with fire damage to the siding from overlapping fire. Searches proved negative as companies received conflicting reports due to a language barrier. Providence EMS did transport one occupant to Rhode Island Hospital in an unknown condition.
