I was sitting in the North Providence Fire Alarm Office when the call was taken for a reported dwelling fire. The reported address was a few streets down from the station. Police arrived with smoke showing from a 1sty dwelling. Engine 1 arrived and stretched a dry line as a precaution due to the smoke condition on arrival. The smoke was caused by a delayed ignition of an oil burner.
