North Smithfield, RI- A sole female occupant tipped her car over on a rain slickened Saint Paul Street around 2000hrs on August 8, 2008. Rescue 1 arrived first due to the MVA was a 1/4 mile from their firehouse. Captain Malboeuf radioed that he had a female who was alert and oriented trapped in the driver's seat. Engine 2 arrived to set up stabilizing jacks to secure the vehicle. Engine 2 Lieutenant Dave Mowry used the cutters to remove the roof to free the victim. The driver was placed on a backboard and transfered to Rescue 1 once the roof was flapped down. The patient was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation of injuries.
