Dudley, MA - Companies 2 and 3 were toned out around 0145hrs on September 6, 2009 for a reported fire at 40 Fish Road. The reporting party stated that he fled his home that was on fire and ran to a neighbors home to call 911. First due companies requested a second alarm to be struck on arrival due to the heavy overlapping fire from side 1 of the 1.5sty wood framed dwelling. The OIC soon after struck a third alarm bringing Company 1, Southbridge, Webster, Charlton, and nearby Quinebaug Fire from Connecticut. The firefighters stretched in several lines to try to darken down the blaze. The dwelling was located at the end of a narrow road which was a dead end. A tanker shuttle was established but was hampered by this narrow road. Tankers were shuttled in one by one as they were needed to refill the drop tanks. Firefighters were allowed to enter the dwelling to overhaul this severely damaged dwelling about an hour after they arrived. State Police Investigators will be assisting local officials in cause and origin.
