Woonsocket, RI – Fire Alarm stilled out Engines 2, 3, 4, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and Chief 1 to 404 Bernon Street for a reported fire in an occupied apartment on April 27, 2009 around 1045am. As companies were responding, fire alarm received several more calls reporting the fire. Engine 2 arrived and reported nothing showing from a 2sty wood framed apartment structure. Engine 2’s crew began their investigation on the first floor and found a smoke condition. The radio then opened up with, “Charge my line”! An aggressive interior attack kept this fire from spreading further. Ladder 1’s stick was thrown to the roof through a maze of wires incase of the need for ventilation. The fire was knocked down using tank water and 1 ¾” hand line. There were no reported injuries and the cause is under investigation.
