CENTRAL FALLS, RI- Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in the basement of a vacant 3.5sty wdfm at 53-55 Hendricks Street around 2200hrs on August 19, 2008. First due units attempted an aggressive interior attack but had to withdraw due to rapid fire spread. The fire advanced throughout this balloon framed house soon after arrival. Heavy fire showed itself on side 2's cellar, first and second floor windows extending upwards into the loft. The fire self vented out of the attic making the OIC sound the "ALL OUT". Two ladder pipes and several lines brought this blaze under control in 2 hours. Mutual Aid responded in from Lincoln, Pawtucket, North Providence, Cumberland, and Providence.
