Uxbridge, MA - Uxbrdige Fire received calls for a dwelling fire at 47 Chestnut Street as mother nature dumped 12" of snow onto the area. Police arrived first due and reported fire on the second floor in the laundry room of this 30x60 2.5sty wood frame occupied dwelling. All occupants were out of the dweeling as the fire department arrived. Ladder 1 and Engine 2 arrived and quickly knocked this dryer fire down with a water can. A 1.75" handline was stretched and charged as a precaution but was never used. Engines 3 and 5 also responded to the scene but were released soon after command gave the under control to dispatch. Engine 2 was just placed into service and has seen her fair share of work in 2 days. This has been her 3rd minor fire since being in service.
