WOONSOCKET, RI (PROVIDENCE COUNTY) - Woonsocket Fire Alarm stilled out a first alarm to the Burger King Restaurant at 293 Social Street for a reported fire in the building on November 22, 2008 around 1700hrs. Engine 2 arrived to find this 1 story restaurant heavily charged with smoke. Ladder 1's crew went to the roof via the stick to check for extension along with the members of Engine 1. They opened the roof finding heavy smoke only. Engine's 2 and 3 opened the siding on side 1 (Social Street side) finding a small fire in the wall cavity. Firefighters lowered the initial hose line that was stretched to the roof to an awaiting firefighter on a step ladder. The fire was quickly contained to the area of origin.
